New Features, New Terminology

Communities now Neighborhoods

7/15/2008 - Frequent site visitors are probably used to browsing homes by "Community", a popular feature of our website.

We've changed that terminology in order to bring you new features: "Communities" are now "Neighborhoods". This is actually a more accurate description anyway, so this change should make things more intuitive.

You'll notice that "Browse by Communities" is still an option -- the difference is, Communities now describe the 27 Communities of Hillsborough County. Much larger than a neighborhood, but smaller than a city, this should provide a convenient way to narrow your home search to a general area.

What is generally known as "Carrollwood", for example, actually has a mailing address of "Tampa". By browsing by Community, you can now see homes that are just in Carrollwood!

Just as with the Neighborhoods, we have highlighted several Hillsborough county communities with photos, descriptions and virtual tours. We'll be enhancing these guides as well as providing new ones over the coming months.

Also incorporated is an interactive mapping feature to visually show you the community boundaries on a Google map! You can click any shaded area and view homes in that community.

The interactive map is also added to our neighborhoods so you can better orient yourself as to where these neighborhoods are located in relation to each other and Tampa bay.
